What’s the best conversation starters for your Teen or Tween to get them to put down their cell phone and start a real meaningful conversation?
Well if your child is anything like mine free appetizer, dessert or a message from an influencer might just do the trick.
That’s why, here at Dinner Table MBA, we’re partnering with both restaurants and influencers to:
- Generate fun, meaningful conversation around the dinner table among family members
- Give families the opportunity to, together, learn the life skills and personal development habits that aren’t being taught in school that will increase resiliency, manage stress, and increase overall happiness
- Create a fun experience that both kids and adults will want to partake in, again and again
Why are Conversation Starters Important?
“How was school?”
“What did you learn today?”
Have you ever caught yourself asking those questions? Of course you have! We all have (heck, I have asked my 2 year old in preschool if he had a fun day at school).
And those questions are important to ask, don’t get me wrong, but when has a question like that ever resulted in a meaningful conversation that allowed you to get to know your child better (or them to get to know you better, for that matter)?
Probably never.
That’s why well-thought-out conversation starters are so useful.
They help your family members think critically about topics. Or just stop and think through how they really feel on topics, period.
They also create opportunities for you and your children to REALLY get to know one another, REALLY find out how you each feel about topics.
Going Beyond the Conversation Starter
If you Google, “conversation starters,” what you’ll find is a list of open-ended questions. There’s often no right or wrong answer to the question.
And while conversation starters are fantastic, we wanted to do more than that.
We wanted to use questions to dig deep on topics that are really impacting kids (and adults) today and then, with the help of top influencers, share the latest tips and strategies around that topic.
We want families to walk out of restaurants with valuable strategies and tactics they can apply immediately in the real world, whether they’re in high school or they’re our age.
Things like:
- How to develop mental toughness
- How to develop a super memory
- How to spark confidence at the snap of a finger
And so much more…
If this sounds exciting to you, then I’d like to invite you to nominate a family restaurant in your local area.
Pull Up a Chair to the Table with Your Favorite Influencer
Through “conversation starters,” we wanted to create an experience where families could, together, learn the valuable life skills and habits that will make life easier today as well as 25 years from now. We’re partnering with the influencers your kids are watching online to create a fun, easy learning experience the entire family will enjoy.
One kids will want to take part in month after month.
And during the experience, to eliminate all distractions and make it truly meaningful time together, everyone’s phone will be put into a mailbox on your table. And to incentivize your child to participate, the restaurants will be including a free appetizer, dessert, or even a discount on your bill.
If you would, help us out by sharing this message and nominating a restaurant in your local area today.
